Note : Before following the procedure, read the complete process carefully and understand it very well, if possible go to youtube and check for videos which tell how to root and how to flash recovery, get acquainted so that you may not mess up things.

Since micromax has removed some mount permissions, it is near to impossible to root with jelly bean installed on mmx phones. So we are going to follow the below procedure for rooting the MMX a110.

  • Downgrade to ICS  (Ice cream sandwich)
  • Root and Install CWM Recovery
  • Upgrade back to Jelly Bean

Step 1.

Download all necessary files that you will need during this procedure. Will share the links shortly

  1. PDAnet (For installing the ADB drivers on your windows machine)
  2. ICS rom for downgrading
  3. Recovery Image of Cwm recovery
  4. Jelly bean Rom
  5. Batch file by Bin4ry for rooting
  6. Su binaries (Just in case)

Developers have put much so much efforts to develop these images and roms, take time to thank them go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/

Step 2.

Downgrading to Ice cream Sandwich

  • After you have done this. Just run “runme.bat” choose option 4
  • Follow the instructions, your phone may reboot during this process.
  • After the successful root your phone will have an app installed automatically (superSu)
  • If it happens. Your phone is successfully rooted.

Step 4

Upgrading the Rom to Jelly Bean

  • Flashing the recovery to CWM recovery so that we can install the new rom using the recovery mode
  • Install mobile Uncle Toolkit using google play store.

  • In mobile uncle app go to the update recovery option, it will scan the sdcard and show the recovery.img that you have placed in external sdcard

  • After installing, “wipe data” , “wipe cache” and go to advanced and “wipe dalvik cache” go back to recovery mode menu and choose “reboot system now”
  • Once it reboots, you are now using the jelly bean stock and Rooted as well. Congrats !

Warning: Rooting your phone may hamper your software / hardware warranty, so do that on your own risk. I am not responsible if you did this carelessly and brick the phone. Happy rooting.
